Splunk Migration Engineer (US)

About the Role

Tasks and Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and execution of migration projects to move client data and processes to Splunk platforms.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to understand their requirements and tailor migration strategies accordingly.
• Ensure seamless integration of new systems with existing infrastructure and processes.
• Conduct pre-migration assessments to identify potential issues and develop mitigation strategies.
• Customize and configure Splunk environments according to client needs, including developing scripts and apps as necessary.
• Provide training and support to clients on the new Splunk system, ensuring they can maximize its value.
• Maintain up-to-date documentation throughout the migration process, including project plans, configurations, and training materials.
• Monitor system performance post-migration and make adjustments as needed to optimize operations.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Splunk Engineer or similar role, with specific experience in Splunk migrations (no less than 3 years)
• Strong understanding of Splunk architecture, including data ingestion, indexing, search, and visualization.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or Bash for Splunk app and dashboard development.
• Experience with data transformation and normalization to ensure compatibility with Splunk.
• Familiarity with networking principles and protocols.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Splunk certifications (e.g., Splunk Certified Architect, Splunk Certified Developer) are highly desirable.
